Spread wager definition

A Spread wager is a bet on the Margin of Victory of a game.

The margin of victory is identified in the Spread odds by a plus or minus sign and a number.

For example:

An NFL game has a spread of 5 ½ points. The Favorite (-5 ½) must win the game by 6 or more points to cover the spread and be graded as a winner. If the favorite wins by 5 points or less or loses, then the Underdog (+5 ½) covers the spread and is graded as the winner.

**Overtime scores count towards Full Game and 2nd Half bets.
